Ten Important Reminders for Dog and Cat Companionship

1. Be sure you can fulfill the responsibilities of ownership before bringing a pet into your family.
2. Spay or neuter your animal while it is young so you don't contribute to the pet over-population problem.
3. To establish behavioral and physical boundaries, animals must be taught good manners.
4. Do not use abusive training methods. Kindness and firmness only!
5. Start training at an early age.
6. Remain non-judgmental when working with your new pet.
7. Don't expect your friend to be human. Remember animals have four legs.
8. Remember you are in charge.
9. Repetition and patience will produce a well-mannered addition to your home.
10. Always be consistent.
